Krishna Ranch is a Dutch/Indian company, specializing in horse-safaris and treks through beautiful rural Rajasthan. The ranch is situated just 7 kilometers out of Udaipur in the beautiful Arravali mountain-range.
70% of India’s population still live in villages, earning their livelihood through agriculture. It is a pity that most travellers only get a look at the big cities, without experiencing such an important part of the Indian life and culture
Our mission is to show you the beautiful and interesting world of India outside the big cities in an environmental friendly way, guided by people who come from the area. We invite you to step with us into a completely different world of beautiful valleys, unspoiled lakes, remote villages and friendly tribal people.
High quality horse-safaris
With Krishna Ranch you can be sure to find the perfect riding holiday in India. We ensure you will have the best Marwari horses, professional English speaking guides, excellent food and comfortable stay in spacious tents. Your trip through the beautiful Arravali mountains will pass lakes, small villages, wildlife-areas, forts and palaces.
If you are a beginner or if you don’t have time for a longer ride you can book one of our excellent value short safaris of 2.5 hours, ½ day or 1 day.
Stay at the ranch and relax
The ranch is also an ideal place to spend a leisurely vacation away from the hectic Indian city-life. We offer the possibility to stay at our peaceful ranch in nicely decorated, comfortable rural cottages. The ranch is an excellent starting point for walks and short rides to the nearby villages and beautiful country-side.
Enjoy our treks by walk
If you are interested to discover rural India on foot, this is possible. We organize professionally guided walking treks, passing through small tribal villages and the fascinating remote parts of the Arravalis. We organize one day treks and multi-day treks(3 days or more).
Sustainability and responsible tourism
We are very committed to save the environment and promote responsible tourism.
Krishna Ranch is surrounded by 2 acres of agricultural land. We grow wheat, millet, lentils and different types of seasonal vegetables. We run our farm eco-friendly: neither chemical fertilizers nor pesticides are being used. We use solar panels for hot water and try to reuse waste as much as possible. During the past 15 years we have planted hundreds of (fruit)trees).
All staff working at Krishna Ranch come from nearby villages, mostly from the local Bhil-community. Many of them have been working with us for 10 years or more and feel as part of the family.
We will enter the region at a pace which will give you plenty of time to really meet the local population and get to know their daily life. If possible you can partake in their spiritual ceremonies or festivals.
Either you book a horse-safari, a stay at the ranch or a trek, it will be an experience you will never forget. Don’t miss it!
